Let Go of the Future

There have been times in my life when I would stay up half the night thinking of the future – this would range from my relationships with others, to what God had called me for

My mind would go crazy because I would do the “what ifs” for my life…

What if – I lose my job?

What if – I get sick?

What if – I’m left all alone?

What if – God forgets me?

Then one day, someone turned to me and said, “well…what if?” As in, well, what would happen if “if” happened! It had never occurred to me to go beyond the point of my initial worry.

I realised that my mind had become a battlefield of worrying about things that didn’t or wouldn’t happen, but I had to get to a place, that even if it did, I knew I would get through

There is a reason that Paul describes the Word of God in Ephesians 6 as the sword. It truly is what we can use to fight our minds, and rediscover the truth that is ahead

Friends below is the Scripture that I used when there was uncertainty in my life, and when I came past this quote from Corrie ten Boom, it reminded me of what life used to be like

We do not need to worry because God has already written this day before time even began, and therefore, when we know Who God actually is, ask yourself, what do we actually need to fear?

Today, I pray that God will remind us that we need to let go of the future, and simply focus on going deeper with our relationship with our All-Knowing, All-Loving Abba…

Therefore, if you are worried, read your Bible, or if you are fearful, pray, and cry out to God, because as our Pastor said yesterday, ”Yes, God is good – all the time – but do we actually believe it?”

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬
