I remember looking at her, and thinking that she obviously didn’t care about the situation at hand, I mean, her family had been ”through hell and back,” and they acted like it didn’t matter…then I asked them, why were they so different?
They explained to me about God, and the Holy Spirit, and how they walked with this God through life, and He gave them peace and direction
Honestly, I thought they sounded crazy, but, their words stuck with me, and I found years later that I, myself, would be drawing upon those words and the Scripture found in Luke 6:47-48
Have you ever be drawn to someone who has unwavering faith?
These people are tenacious and continue to plough forward when circumstances seem impossible. I remember being amazed by these people who were not shaken by their environment, or moved from their beliefs, in God, to come through for them
And so, I felt this morning, that some of us needed a reminder to stand firm on God’s Word because God will always give us direction
Friends, we have no idea what influence we genuinely have, just by living day-to-day as God shows us.
Since my time as a Chrisitan, it has shocked me how many times people have watched me go through something, and then ask questions afterwards, because they saw the peace, and yet, to me, I felt like I had lost all capacity to function as a human being in what felt like I just cried out to God all the time!
It’s never easy, to put aside our thoughts and feelings, to trust God beyond comprehension, but in doing so, it builds our faith, our understanding of Who God truly is, and the depths that He will go to, to save us
This Scripture has held me tightly through many floodwaters; therefore, I pray today, that we all will take hold of it too, and stand firm on the Word because God will always give us direction, if we listen to Him, and be obedient in our faith
”I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it. It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built.” Luke 6:47-48
