Proverbs Challenge (Day 11)

Good morning, and welcome to Day 11 of the Proverbs Challenge! Today, we are reading through Proverbs 11

The proverb which spoke to my heart this morning was Proverbs 11:4, and therefore, let me tell you why

“Riches won’t help on the day of judgment, but right living can save you from death.”

Proverbs 11:4

My thoughts: A few months ago, I did a personal study through the book of Revelation, and this verse just took me back to some of the things that God had shared with me back then

I adore the book of Revelation because it shows us that it will be the end of suffering, and the beginning of us being with God, for eternity!

Proverbs 11:4 tells me that satan’s plan to distract us with riches of this world, or what else comes with wealth, will ultimately be our downfall, because this life is about choices. Choices to follow the path that God has for us – and that may include wealth, but the question will always come back to…who is the Lord over our lives?

The life we live now teaches us to follow Christ through the Bible and through the Holy Spirit’s leading. We should be following Jesus’ guidance. His truth. His way. Because Jesus gives us life. But again, God always provides us with a choice to repent, and therefore, choose to turn away from whatever it is that leads us away from Him

Yet, God is a gentleman, and although He loves us unconditionally, a time is coming where the line will be drawn in the sand, and Jesus will return to take those of us who have faithfully followed, home

My reflection: God will settle accounts with all people, whether Christian, or not, but on Judgement Day, each of us will stand alone, and be accountable to our lives. No amount of wealth will be able to buy reconciliation with God, because only our love for Him, and our obedience within this lifetime, to Him, will count

What did Proverbs 11 show you?
