We all love to be walking out our dreams, or seeing a desire come to fruition, but whether a dream coming true is actually a good or bad thing depends on the nature of the dream itself
What I mean by this is that it is incredible to achieve our goals in life, but not all goals are worth pursuing! This is the difference between Godly wisdom and earthly wisdom because when we set our minds on something, we can lose the inability to assess God’s will, over our own
Therefore, when ”desire” blinds our judgement and we start walking in our own will, or strength, it usually ends up with an unwise relationship, or a bad plan, because it sends us down the wrong path, just to achieve that dream
I have seen this firsthand, and although it became a learning curve, it made me realise that I don’t want to compromise in my life, simply because, dreams fulfilled without God felt mediocre in comparison. Therefore, I would, now, rather wait for direction from God, than stomp off ahead on my own path
Friends, our faithfulness in God to see our dreams fulfilled is what brings joy to our souls
So, the next time the Holy Spirit is leading us away from our dreams, remember Proverbs 13:19, because stubbornness is not wise, and it certainly isn’t virtuous, but we should never compromise our Godly dreams because we became too impatient
“It is pleasant to see dreams come true, but fools refuse to turn from evil to attain them.”
Proverbs 13:19
