There was a time when I lived in fear. Afraid to make decisions, or generally change anything in my world – despite how bad it was – because of the unknown
Yet, I was challenged one day, to stop looking at other people, because in life, there is only an audience of One…this changed my life
When I preach or teach, I will often hear some sort discouragement in my head, because this was one of my biggest fears. I did not want to be seen, let alone heard. I was ”clumsy” growing up and would often ”trip over my own shadow,” but I remember the day so distinctly when I tripped and fell over in front of my peers, at the school awards ceremony. The laughter was billowing in my ears that bought about a fear. From then, I did not want to be laughed at again, and so, I chose not to speak publicly again until Bible college in my early thirties
I realised at Bible college that there is only an audience of One, and if God had asked me to do it, what was I fearing?
It came down to my ability to trust in what I know, rather than the circumstances that I could see before me
When I fear, I now say this Scripture out-loud. To those I mentor, I will say this Scripture regularly to them as well because God has called us all to be bold and fearless in our pursuit of freedom, and our purpose in life.

Today, let’s change our mindset to realise that it’s only God’s opinion that truly matters. Let’s also remember that there is no such thing as failure in God’s Kingdom when we do what He asked us in the first place because it’s always about the journey, and not the destination
