A thirst for God

Just as the life of a deer depends upon water, so should our lives depend on God.

I find it interesting that in Book II of the Psalms, there is a shift from the authors using mostly God’s name as Jehovah (Lord) to Elohim (Creator / Sustainer) and this Psalm reflects this.

Those who seek God and long to understand Him better, will always find eternal life and I love this Psalm because of this fact.

The sons of Korah felt separated from God and they wouldn’t rest until the relationship with Him was restored because life ultimately depended on it – just like a deer needing to be sustained with water.

If you feel alone or depressed, I pray that you will meditate on scriptures that show God’s kindness and love
