Sometimes it’s not enough to hear or read the Word of God, or even to know it well. We have to put it into practice – into reality – and it apply to our lives.
“Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:8-9
How easy is it to listen to a sermon and forget what the preacher has said?
How easy is it to read the Bible and not think about how we should live differently?
How easy is it to debate what a passage means and to then not live out that meaning?
Expose to God’s word is not enough. It also requires obedience from us.
That means we need to think about what is written and then act upon it because then, what we put into our minds determines what comes out in our words and actions.
