Today, we are delving into Proverbs 10, and I woke up with excitement to see what God had to share
For me, Proverb 10:20 stood out (amongst many) but I felt to share this verse, as I think this affects us all in many ways:
“The words of the godly are like sterling silver; the heart of a fool is worthless.”
Proverbs 10:20
My thoughts: The words we speak are powerful, and Proverbs speaks about life and death from the tongue. Therefore, the words from the ”right” person are valuable (like sterling silver) because that person will bring life to your bones
I remember, always, having people in my life that I knew were terrible influences or not even real friends, but I was still scared of being on my own (again it stems back to the whole rejection thing) yet, God walked with me through this Proverb, and I’ll tell you why
Lots of poor advice is worth nothing compared to a little good advice because it is easy to get opinions from people who will tell us only what they think will please us, but when we think about it, this advice is not helpful!
Instead; we need to look for the people who will speak the truth (in love) even when it hurts
My reflection: Who do we go to for advice? What do we expect to hear from them?
God will bring people around us whom He wants us to allow to speak into our lives, so that no matter what, the wisdom they speak, you know comes from the right place – from God
What has Proverbs 10 shown you?
