Over the last couple of weeks, we have seen the world changed forever. This pandemic continues to spread, and many countries are still fighting this unseen enemy
Yet, this verse found in Mark 10:31 has been replaying in my mind
Around the world, previous unsung heroes are being applauded in the streets, and outside people’s homes as a sign of our gratitude
We are no longer praising Kings and Queens, or the rich and famous, but the cleaners, and supermarket workers who tirelessly serve their communities to provide and care
Friends, this morning, the verse gives us a glimpse of Heaven. In that, just like we, today, are witnessing people who serve others being raised and glorified, so too will it be like this in Heaven
Jesus came to serve and to not be served, but His ministry was to reiterate the same for us. It’s just beautifully ironic that the world is currently witnessing what Christ has said all along
As we go about our day, let’s remember that our heavenly inheritance is not given like the earthly one, but according to God’s will. Therefore, as per the Gospel’s, God tells us that we should not look for the riches that this world can offer, outward appearances, or the highest profession, but more, let’s look to increasing our faith, outwardly loving others, and serving others, where possible
“But many who are the greatest now will be least important then, and those who seem least important now will be the greatest then. ”
Mark 10:31
