For so many years, I wanted to “blend in”. I thought incognito was the way forward, and basically, I just wanted to get through life until Jesus came back
This was reiterated when I was told that I shouldn’t want to stand out, because I shouldn’t want to wear bold colours nor bright lipstick, because this life was about glorifying Jesus, not putting the attention on myself
Yet, when I was writing my first book, I had realised that I had taken on these lies from other people, and these words spoken over me had become a stronghold in my life because I had started comparing myself, and feeling I had to hide the real me
Jesus never said that this life was something we had to survive – Jesus came to give us abundance (John 10:10)
He never said that we were to blend in – Jesus said to be the light and live to glorify Him (Matthew 5:16)
Jesus never said to go to sleep until He returned – He said to wake up and live within His light (Ephesians 5:14)
Friends, we are given abundant life to live for Jesus. We have been called to not bumble through life, but to conquer it, because we have the ultimate victory through Him
So, why are so many of us still standing in the shadows? Why are we scared to step out and be seen? The Scriptures tells us to be walking in God’s light and showing Jesus within our lives
This means that we are re-born to shine because light cannot be hidden in darkness! Therefore, I want to encourage us this morning that the world may put all of their opinions on us…tell us that we need to be silent…or that we will never amount to anything, yet Romans 8:37 tells us differently
It’s time to conquer, rise up and shine!
“Yet even in the midst of all these things, we triumph over them all, for God has made us to be more than conquerors, and his demonstrated love is our glorious victory over everything!”
