I feel that we are a world that has lost its wonder. We have become a society that has a “need to know” and being a generation with the internet at hand, within a minute, our thoughts get confirmed or rerouted to whatever we’ve “clicked” on
I love to wonder…to think…to ponder…to reflect…to dream…and so on. It allows me to speak to God, and allow Him to expand my thoughts and concepts within His creation
The power of being in awe is one of the simplest things, and yet, it has lead me to some of the most profound discoveries within my life. For one, I found God
I was listening to my YouVersion app yesterday whilst driving, and it read out loud Proverbs 30, but I stopped to ponder about the words written in the following verses:
“There are three things that amaze me— no, four things that I don’t understand: how an eagle glides through the sky, how a snake slithers on a rock, how a ship navigates the ocean, how a man loves a woman.”
Proverbs 30:18-19
These are many things in life that have left me in wonder, but like the eagle gliding, there are some things that I didn’t need to have “air thermals” explained to me by science, but more, I just wanted to watch the eagle glide in the sky, and wonder at this most magnificent bird
Friends, Albert Einstein, said it so perfectly, that when we have lost the ability to wonder, our eyes must be closed! God created a world full of it, so today, I encourage you to “pause” and to look around you
He who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead; his eyes are closed.
