It still amazes me how many people in the world think that the church “should be perfect” and unfortunately, it then never meets those individuals expectations or needs.
People then decide to not attend church. Some can even walk away from their faith. Others berate the Pastors. And some, can even dissuade others from going to church on a Sunday.
Their offence – in some ways – becomes too much for them to bear and the result is individuals seeking something that the Church was never supposed to be in the first place!
The church is a place for fellowship. A place for us to belong.
For imperfect people to come together to worship the living, sovereign, and righteous God.
For humanity to understand, that we cannot do life on our own and we were never created to do so.
A Christian’s foundation is found from having the love of the Father and an intimate relationship with Him, through Jesus Christ. But also, with us being with the rest of our Church family – God’s children.
One day, we will be resurrected into what perfection is supposed to look like but until then, let’s stop pretending that the Church should be something it’s not.
We all need God and we all need the body of Christ, or we will never fulfil what we were created to do in the first place.
In this way we are like the various parts of a human body. Each part gets its meaning from the body as a whole, not the other way around. The body we’re talking about is Christ’s body of chosen people. Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of his body….So since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvelously functioning parts in Christ’s body, let’s just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren’t.” Romans 12:4-6 (MSG)
