Age Does Not Bring Wisdom

A lot of people feel that with age comes wisdom, and technically, with the years rolling by, we do discover knowledge and understanding, but true wisdom comes from the Lord

So, what’s the difference between worldly wisdom and God-given wisdom?

”But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favouritism and is always sincere.” James 3:17

To put it simply, Godly wisdom reflects the Father…

The world says to follow your heart, yet Godly wisdom tells us the heart is deceitful (Jeremiah 17:9)

The world says to love your family and friends, yet God says to also love your enemies (Matthew 5:43-47)

Worldly wisdom says many paths lead to God, but Jesus Christ is the only way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6)

Friends, God desires that everyone finds freedom and walks beside Him for all of their days. Yet, we must also ask for Godly wisdom, because just because it’s good, doesn’t mean it’s from God

So when we receive wisdom, let’s continue to pursue God and hold it lightly until we measure it against the Word of God to know for sure, because then, what we speak, we know it reflects who God truly is
