God is in control

How many of us need to hear this today?

Be still…

Do not worry…

God is in control.

Forever changed

img_0326Apostle Paul is one of those people whom, when we get to heaven, I have a list of questions for! Do you have people from the Bible like that?

There is so much that we can learn from Paul’s life, but reading Galatians this morning God bought revelation to me, regarding my own life.

Galatians 1:23 “The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.”

For anyone that has read my testimony you will know that being raised atheist, I had strong opinions about God, religion and “faith” in general. It wasn’t until just a few years ago that I began to wrestle with knowing that I had taken people away from Christ. I felt broken – the guilt was tremendous – but this allowed me to go on a journey with God that has forever changed me. God revealed my destiny and my purpose.

This scripture spoke to my soul about what God is doing in my life, just as He did with Paul. Paul’s changed life had bought praise from those who saw him because his new life had astonished them. They praised God for Paul (v24)  because it was only God that could have turned the zealous persecutor of Christian’s into a Christian himself.

You many not have had the dramatic change that Paul experienced but still, our lives should honour God in every way because people need to see Christ through you.

Why we need to sing

God has done and will continue to do great things in the lives of those who love Him.

We need to lift up our hands and sing His praise.

Singing allows us the opportunity to speak out about what He has done in our lives: He has broken our chains of darkness, forgiven our sin, and set us free!

I am a Child of God

“Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts” Psalm 105:2

Tightening your core with the three I’s

Your spiritual being should be made up of core values that help you become all that you were destined to be.

Identity is important because you fundamentally need to believe who you are in Christ. We need to believe and trust in Gods word because we are created in His image.

Intimacy with God is sharing our thoughts and feelings openly and truthfully in prayer and taking a hold of His grace, in order to trust and obey the words He speaks to us.

Integrity is making sure that our private life matches our public life. The world needs to see that our lives are representing God with being gentle, merciful, kind, humble and patient towards others as mentioned in Colossians 3.

Everything that God works in us, is for the purpose to overflow to others.

Do you know how to love?

The way God wants us to love is directed outwards towards others, not inwards towards ourselves. It is utterly unselfish.

This kind of love goes against our natural inclinations, but God can help us to set aside our own desires and instincts so that eventually, we can love while expecting nothing in return.

That is why, the more we seek Christ, the more love we will show to others.

Eternally wise

Psalm 90 is the oldest of the Psalms which was written by Moses.

This Psalm shows the stark difference between Gods eternal nature when contrasted with man’s frailty.

Our time on earth is limited and therefore we must use it wisely, not just living in the moment, but with our eternal home in mind.

I choose Christ…

The world can be a very glamorous and tempting place but, I choose Jesus.

How about you?

I want Jesus to always be author of my life!!!
