The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.
If we continually focus on The Lord, then he will provide guidance and protection for all of our days.
He is our rock that is so strong, he will not be moved. Therefore when we trip up, perhaps we need to look at what path we are currently on – as the righteous path will certainly always be solid under your feet.
I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength to do his work. He considered me trustworthy and appointed me to serve him, even though I used to blaspheme the name of Christ. In my insolence, I persecuted his people. But God had mercy on me because I did it in ignorance and unbelief. Oh, how generous and gracious our Lord was! He filled me with the faith and love that come from Christ Jesus.
What Paul says in this Epistle is exactly what I was like, before I was saved in 2006.
God uses those of us who sin against the Lord Almighty because that is what Jesus does – he forgives and loves unconditionally.
God has unmeasurable mercy and grace to set us free from all the sins of this world.
Taking that step of faith changed my life forever, so much so that now God has sent me out to do his work and show others that no matter what you have done in your past, your future has hope because of Jesus Christ.
Let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise -the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.
A good friend of mine recently preached “What is Worship?”
I began meditating on that notion and we discussed the implications of turning worship into something it’s not.
Do you go to Church and think… “I don’t like this song?” Or “I wish the band played more hymns”
What about when you pray? “Lord I need you to do this for me” Or “I want ??? in order to become what you need me to be”
Worship should ALWAYS be about The Lord!
Singing should be about praising his almighty name…
Prayer should be thanking him for the blessings you have…
Life should be about living to glorify Jesus.
Love your neighbor as yourself
This command is easier said than done!
What happens if your Neighbor is a murderer; child molester or keeps you up all night with drinking parties?
1 John 5:17 “All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that does not lead to death”
The ONLY person able to judge others is Jesus Christ.
We do not know others circumstances. God has placed you where you are for a reason.
Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.
Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honouring each other.
Do not be fake and two faced.
Instead show Gods mercy and grace to everyone who crosses your path.
Stand out from the crowd – for the right reasons!
