We all go on a journey with God, that shapes us regarding patience. It used to be a running joke with my friends – that I had none – and I would forge my way through any obstacle I came across in order to get to where I needed to go
Yet, over time, God showed me a better way
He showed me that although I could achieve things independently, by walking with Him, there was always a lesson that I may never have learnt, if I had forged my way through, as before
Plus, waiting for God’s perfect timing not only allowed me to grow, but the outcome almost always exceeded my expectations, and I realised that God’s way was the best, and so I learnt patience
However, sometimes, although we may get to where God showed us He wants us to be, it’s our humility that keeps us there. Our achievements all come down to God blessings, if we have followed His path and waited patiently, but our attitudes will show people exactly where our hearts truly are when we have success
How many times have we seen or heard about a person that was once humble, yet, fame, and all that it brings “ruined” them in some way, and ultimately destroyed where they were destined to be
Friends, God can give us a blessing, but He can always take it away too. This is never to punish us, but to protect us
I want to be the person who not only waits for the Lord to say “move” or “go”, but the person who then remains humble when my dreams are met and life exceeds my expectations
“Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.”
