True Worship

We need to remember that worship is not just for Sunday’s, but everyday!

We all know the story of the Samaritan Woman, who spoke with Jesus at the well, but she asks a question to Jesus about why the Israelites believe that you can only worship God at Jerusalem, and Jesus replies with:

“But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.”

John 4:23

So often, we can become focused, just like the Israelites, and even the Samaritans (who believed the worship to God should be on a mountain), about where our worship should take place

Yet, God is omnipresent, and this Scripture reminded me, this morning, that worship is an outward response to our Spirit connecting with God

Although, interestingly, if we look at this verse, Jesus says that when “𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩” which sadly means that there are fake worshippers. God wants us all, not in part, and therefore, just because on a Sunday we worship doesn’t mean that when Jesus returns we’ll go to Heaven!

In truth, with God being omnipresent, our worship should be a continuous outpouring throughout our lives.

In other words, just as Jesus explains to the Samaritan woman, it’s not about being at a specific location, but the attitude of the worshippers throughout their lives.

Our praise should be continuous or never-ending (Psalm 30:12) whether we are in church together, in our car alone, or the movie theatre with a loved one…everything we do should be about glorifying and worshipping God.

It’s time that we worship the King with all of our being, live to glorify Jesus and to love God from a place of sincerity- every day
