I was running on my treadmill a couple of days ago when I heard the words “It’s time to breathe”. This is what I felt the Lord say when I spent time with Him:
My children have taken the dreams I placed inside of them, and are trying to forge forward to fulfil what has been spoken
The Lord then showed me a picture of many people on treadmills who were trying to reach their dreams and goals, but have been getting “nowhere”. Therefore, these people have been crying out to Him in prayer.
I then saw a quiet stream, and I saw other people sat listening to the peaceful sounds of its trickling water, with their eyes closed. The Lord then spoke again:
You need to breathe in every word that I have spoken, but then, my children must let go of the dreams
This is what He showed me…
Letting go of the dreams placed inside of you doesn’t mean that you aren’t going to achieve what He has spoken, but more, that it allows God’s PERFECT TIMING to come into fruition.
Letting go means that we no longer strive to do things in our OWN STRENGTH. Like those people on the treadmills, there are some of us trying to push open the spiritual doors to forge forward. However, God showed me that the doors are shut to guard our hearts at this specific time.
Letting go means that our souls GET TO BREATHE. One thing that I have learnt is when we focus on what lies ahead, the enemy diverts our attention away from God. Those people by the stream were focusing on nature’s chorus of worship towards the Most High. When we breathe, it allows us to refocus and pause on our relationship with the Lord, rather than the legalism of works.
It’s time to let go and breathe. God is asking if you WILL YOU STILL LOVE HIM if your hopes and dreams never come to pass in your lifetime?
Think of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses…these faith-filled giants never received the fulness of God’s Promises within their lifetime, and yet, pursued the heart of God, they served the Lord to the best of the ability, and their last breath was to glorify Him!
“We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.”
Proverbs 16:9
