Over the weekend, I had the privilege to pray for an ”older” woman. I would guess that she was in her eighties and this woman inspired me in the ten minutes that we spoke, and the short time we prayed together
This incredible woman reaffirmed what God had been speaking to Kieren and I about over the last few months – that there is a hunger and desire to not only know God more profound but that God will use the elderly within His Kingdom
This woman looked at me and said these words ”I know that God’s not done with me, yet” because she explained that although she congregates at a more ”traditional” Church, her dream is to see the Spirit move within the congregation as a whole, and for God to speak through her
Friends, I saw more hunger in her eyes than in most of the younger generations, and it is predicted that within the next twenty years, that the numbers of the old, will overtake the young due to advances in medicine etc…
There is a new generation that needs to rise. This people group not only has a vast amount of wisdom, but I see more and more, that they are also hungry for Jesus
In Deuteronomy 34:7 it tells us that Moses was still strong when he died at 120-years-old, and although our bodies may fade, God can and will use a willing heart
I am passionate about every person finding their purpose and walking in freedom – whether they be 11-years-old or 90 years. I am a firm believer that if you are still breathing, then God still wants to partner with you to bring Heaven to earth
Therefore, to the elderly, I want to encourage you to pursue your God-given dreams because if Moses was eighty when he led a people group out of captivity, then God will use the older generation, today, to bring multitudes to His name
“Now that I am old and gray, do not abandon me, O God. Let me proclaim your power to this new generation, your mighty miracles to all who come after me.”
