My Daughter’s Devotion

Last week, Sarai volunteered to write a devotion for her school class. It was a ”proud Mumma” moment when she came home and told us that she wanted to write something. So, she has allowed me to share it with you:

”2020 has been hard for some of us. COVID-19 stopped us from coming to school, having friends over to hang out, and for some, we may have also felt sad and alone at times.

When I was sad, it changed the way I acted towards my family, and I didn’t act like myself. So, I argued with my Dad, and basically I got told off, as it wasn’t nice for anyone.

This Psalm is pretty long, but it talks about staying true to God and His word – no matter how bad the world becomes.

My mum told me to think about what Jesus would do if He were me at that moment, and I ended up reading my Bible.

This made me realise that I become happy when I obey God. So that means asking for forgiveness when you do something wrong, or loving others the way God loves us.”

By Sarai

Friends, I hope that this morning, we can take something from what Sarai wrote. For me: I look at my daughter and remember what it was like not to overcomplicate life, but to read God’s word and apply it simply within my world, because when I am walking with the Holy Spirit, and following Jesus (as my guide within my day) that is when I am most happiest

This morning, let’s remember that God’s word is true, and so, let’s stay true to God and His word no matter what is happening around us. God has given us amazing book to apply God’s instructions to our lives, and in my own life, I have realised that obedience to God is the only thing that brings true happiness

“I will not be ashamed when I compare my life with your commands.”

Psalm 119:6

My hearts desire is for everyone to have an intimate relationship with Christ. To hear the voice of God and to experience His presence. Also, to help disciple others to discover their purpose within the body of Christ - through the power of the Holy Spirit.

My God-given dream is to break down barriers within life and the Church as a whole to strengthen and develop relationships within every denomination and bring unity - so that we will collectively raise up together and fulfil the Great Commission, within this lifetime.

I am living proof that no matter what your past was or whatever your life has become - God will use you to fulfil what He created you to do, when you step out in obedience and faith.

yes it did and i am adopted and i need support
seems like a lot of turmoil in in my life

      • I’m sorry that you are struggling. Do you have a local church that you are connected into? The turmoil comes when we have stopped focusing on God. I pray God’s peace over your mind. That you will discover your true identity is found in God, and Him alone, and that the voices that you are listening too will be silenced as you turn to face Jesus. I pray that you receive an outpouring of love and grace in your life and that you arm yourself with the armour of God for His protection over your circumstances. Bless you
