How many of us are struggling in 2020 with direction, and trying to stay focused on what God has spoken within our lives as we head into the final few months of this year?
Over the weekend, I have been thinking about this song “Just Jesus” by Hillsong Young & Free. It’s a different type of song from what typically fills my soul, but it has a powerful truth behind it
I have always been in awe of the Disciples when Jesus called them, and they left everything to “follow Him.” Maybe, it’s the thought of merely laying everything down in that defining moment, that seems inconceivable (this is coming from someone who loves to dream and plan) and yet, we read that they did
For some of us, we have had that defining moment, but for others, it may have been a slow but steady kind of walk where you have progressively – over time – laid down the cares of this world for your greater love for God
Friends, whatever our path has taken, so far, it almost seems to have grounded to a halt, because 2020 has rewritten history for stopping the world in its tracks, and for the globe to rethink everything. We now can not go back to “how things were” but we can look to God and say “what now?”
Jesus is still calling us to pick up our cross every day and “follow Him” but it remembers that He is and always has been, the way, the truth, and the life, and therefore, whatever temptation the world has opened up for us in this last season, we have to let go, and refocus on Him
