Guess what one of the hardest things for us to do, is, regarding God’s grand design for our lives?
Nothing.
Yet, no matter what we face daily, there seems to be a pretence that we ”must” act in order to achieve what is needed.
God reminded me this morning of the Scripture found in Isaiah 30:15:
“This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength.”
In truth, there are only three things that God has ever ”required” from each of us…
That we will return to Him in repentance and rest in our salvation, and also, to love God, and love others for all of our days – that’s it
Salvation comes from God alone, and because of this, we need to learn to quiet our minds of needing to be someone, or the need to do something, to trust Him and be peacefully confident that He will give us Godly strength to face whatever life throws at us
Friends, so many of us try to do things in our own strength because we feel ”we have to” but truthfully, the most profound thing that I have learnt, is to reduce my ”busyness” and my ”endless efforts” to achieve, and allow God to move in my circumstances
God spoke four words in this Scripture which are extremely powerful for us to remember this morning…
Repent…
Rest…
Quiet Yourself…
Trust
Therefore, let me encourage us to not be like Judah and look to others to save them, when Isaiah spoke these words. But instead, let’s look straight to God and allow Him to do what He does best…save His children
