Yesterday, I was listening to the new Kim Walker-Smith album and the song ”You’ll Always Be” came whispering God’s promises into my ears, but the bridge sings:
”I’m not afraid ’cause everything gives way when I speak your name”

2020 promised so much for God’s church because we now enter the decade of the ’80s, represented by the Hebrew letter ”Pe”. This is a symbolism of the mouth, to boldly come before God to speak and declare His promises to shift the atmospheres over His nations
Yet, I want to encourage us this morning, that this simply has to start with us – His children – to realise that in these times of uncertainty God has always been, and always will be the God, who gives us perfect peace
Why is this significant?
Faith in Christ brings great blessings, but often suffering too. Paul suffered for his faith (2 Corinthians 11:23-27). Yet, God calls us to commitment, not comfort. He promises to be with us through suffering and hardship, not to spare us from them
Friends, 2020 has undoubtedly been one for the books, but within our fear and anxiety we find healing through Christ because everything bows to His name
We know that God’s ways are not our ways, and therefore, what we think will happen within the trials of our every day lives, manifest in God’s perfect will for us by running to Him
There is nothing to fear, because God is for us, and this song reminded me of our authority to ”speak” boldly to God. He is the King of Kings who has given His children the Prince of Peace
Therefore, I want to encourage us this morning, Jesus brings us, Hope, through His name
Whatever you are going through, whether it is the darkest valley of despair, or you are walking with God on the mountain top of joy – everything comes back to Him to release His perfect peace in all circumstances, all day, every day
Praise God this morning. Praise Him and speak out His promises to us, because every knee will bow and all governments will rest on His shoulders, but this time is for us to declare it all, in Jesus’ name
“The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Isaiah 9:6
