I love that people from all around the globe are joining me with this challenge! This is a ”community” coming alongside each other to build each other up, through Scripture, and therefore, I am so excited to see what God reveals to us over the next 31 days
For those of you who missed the ”intro” (yesterday) to this Proverbs Challenge, don’t worry, it’s very straightforward, but I gave some tips to reading Proverbs, so make sure you go and check it out!
Each day the challenge is to read one chapter of Proverbs and then allow the Holy Spirit to guide you to revelation through these beautiful Scriptures (so today, is the first of the month, so only read chapter one) Don’t forget to write down what you feel ”spoke to you”, but also, an important part is to then pray over the verses that stood out! Next ask God to reveal how you can apply this to your life (because that my friend, is not only Rhema, but it’s the Scriptures drawing you closer to God, by renewing your mind)
I will only write here one verse that stood out, for myself, each day, because the beauty of this challenge, is it’s personal!
My Thoughts: Proverbs 1:20 is the personification of wisdom for me – in other words, it allows the thought of wisdom to come alive!
This is because wisdom is not a separate ”being” – it’s the mind of God revealed! By reading about Jesus through Scripture, I can see the wisdom in action, with how I should think and live
Therefore, wisdom ”calling” and guiding us, means I will see this throughout the book of Proverbs
My Reflection: Friends, in James 1:5, James doesn’t talking about wisdom as just knowledge, but it’s the ability to make wise decisions in difficult circumstances. The same applies here. Proverbs show that whenever we need wisdom, we need to pray to God, and read this beautiful book, for guidance
Wisdom is practical discernment – this begins with respect for God, Who leads us to right living, which results in us having an increased ability to tell right from wrong. To put it simply – we need to do what God tells us
“Wisdom shouts in the streets. She cries out in the public square.”
Proverbs 1:20
Now your turn…
See you tomorrow for Day 2!
