This quote speaks volumes to me because it’s reality, yet it again shows our true inheritance
The hardest thing in this world is admitting that we are sinners, because we are all flawed in one way or another! Yet, the irony is that this world strives for perfection, and therefore, admitting these truths goes against the grain
I remember when I had the revelation that I needed Christ. It was like this huge weight had been lifted because I didn’t need to ”try” to be someone who I wasn’t any longer, as Christ had died to set me free, not who I thought I needed to become
The best thing is that I still need Christ
Probably more so now than before because I have found that the closer I get to Him, the more I realise that I am flawed, yet still, oh so worthy
God has healed my body and my soul, over and over in the fourteen years I have loved Him, to show not only His goodness but His unfailing love, for me
Friends, I don’t know about you, but understanding that we need something more is the foundation of life’s truths. We weren’t made to do life on our own, we were made for an each other, and an eternal connection, of grace and mercy, as we discover the beautiful people around us, are just as flawed as the next person
Admitting that we are sinners, means that we get to ask for Jesus’ help, each day. It also means that we have something in common with every human being because we all fall short of God’s glory!
Yet, that is what we need to remember this morning, because the Pharisees thought that their own image of holiness was more important than helping others. But, the reality is that we all need help…some of us are just better at realising this
Following Jesus is not a popularity contest. Following Jesus means that we realise that even though we are flawed, Jesus died for us anyway, and therefore, this means that we are worthy. We are chosen. We are loved
