Family isn’t Always Right

I knew I had a choice…I wanted freedom, yet God was challenging me to undo all of my thought patterns, which essentially meant undoing who I was

There were some belief systems that I wanted to change, other beliefs that I knew needed to change, and some that I didn’t even know existed

You see, when we grow up, our thought patterns come from our parents, siblings, family, friends, and outside influences. For me, I didn’t have the Holy Spirit to guide me, and so, my influences, although they seemed ”right” we’re completely ”world focused”

Anyone who knows me, will know that I love to have conversations with people. I am simply fascinated by people’s ”journey’s”, and basically, I love to understand who they are and the ”why” behind it all

Friends, our testimonies are powerful because it shows the grace and love of God within our lives. Yet, when our thinking is unpacked, who are we basing our beliefs from?

I read this week a quote from Timothy Keller which said:

It is no longer sufficient to hold beliefs just because we inherited them

Today, allow the Holy Spirit to challenge our thinking. It opened my mind when He showed me the things that I thought were good, actually was, not. God wants to transform our minds simply because when we come at life from a Kingdom perspective – only love will prevail

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.”
