Over the last seven weeks, I have seen Sarai go through ups and downs of having an array of emotions in trying to complete her school work, online
She has had to learn ”time management” at an alarming rate, and sometimes, being honest, she felt the sting of late assignments or forgotten online lessons because this was a new experience
I have listened to frustrated teachers having suddenly to become online geniuses, all while trying to move the kids forward, within their education
I have witnessed Sarai’s reactions to us (with Kieren or I getting frustrated) when she needed our help, only to be met with us being in online meetings ourselves, and therefore, not being available at the time needed
Yet, through all the good, the bad, and the ugly, I have watched Sarai bloom, as she has continuously taken each day as it comes, and tried her best to achieve the results that she has
I am not usually a Homeschool parent, and honestly, the lockdown has shown me that I need to pray extra blessings over the schools! But, it has also been a privilege to celebrate the wins that I normally wouldn’t see, when she’d be at school, or to be able to hold her when she cried in a pool of her tears, in the security of our home
Throughout this whole lockdown, we have prayed for wisdom, and although there have been days when we felt like, together, we smashed it out of the park, there have been other days where I felt like a civil war was brewing!
Yet, reflecting on this profound journey, I am so proud of Sarai, and not in a “look at her“ kinda way, but I’m proud of who our daughter is becoming, in Christ. Her prayers have been beautifully honest as she has sought guidance, and wisdom from God, but during the previous seven weeks, God has produced a new level of faith, and trust, in not only Sarai but us as a family
Friends, although this pandemic has ground the world to a halt, it has united the world, and even us as a family, together, in ways that we could never have imagined, and therefore, we are forever changed through this
I am excited that there has been a “new wine” produced during this time, but I am praying that, again, during this next period of life, we continue to seek Godly wisdom, and be guided by the One who knows, Who sees, and Who loves
“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you.”
