I was reading this piece of Scripture, and this is what the Lord showed me…
I am stood before a large banquet table that is set out beautifully with gold and silver plates that have diamonds set within them, cups with the same pattern, and the cutlery has embossed jewels on the handles. There are red, blue, and purple threads woven within the material of the seat cushions that are attached to gold highbacked chairs. These are also covered in embossed jewels. We are to dine, today, by candlelight as I notice that dusk is falling in this great hall. I then walk towards the Lord, who has gone before me to prepare this table
I look around and see my enemies surrounding where Jesus stands, and I pause momentarily, but then as I gaze upon Jesus’ smile, and He brings a sense of overwhelming love into my heart, and I then continue to walk to Him, as He beckons me to sit beside Him
I have no fear as I sit because as a Christian, the enemies that are shown to me are death and the world, but I sit down, with my back to the enemies, and although this makes me vulnerable, I feel strong with Jesus’ peace and trust in Him
Friends, 1 Corinthians 15 assures us that we have victory over death, because of Jesus Christ, and 1 John 5 affirms to us that we have victory over the world because of our faith in Him
Therefore, I want to encourage you this morning, that although death and the world are very real for us all, just like the Lord showed me, He has gone before us to ensure that when we are focused on Him, we have nothing to fear, because as our Host, He offers protection at all costs
“You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies.”
