Sometimes, there are times, when we are unsure of who we are, or what God wants
Last week, I had this ”declaration” from God, running through my mind. God was replaying it, over and over again, but it came from a simple question:
How do we change the world?
For some of us, this might seem daunting, and that’s ok, but years ago, God told me to ”dream bigger” and I have been ever since. So changing the world doesn’t seem like a big goal to me, because, it’s all for God’s glory, and He is the One that ultimately partners with us to do the things He has called us to anyway. The issue has always been whether we will stand with Him, in faith, to see these things through
I asked God what the church needs to change the world, and this is what He said:
We need Christian’s who are God-fearing, Jesus-loving and Spirit-filled
God then showed me that a lot of the church are still missing one or two of these things, even all of them for some of us
God showed me that to fear Him (fear of not being near Him) is imperative for our faith
Too many of us believe that we can choose our paths, and include God in our decisions, rather than our options. That is when we drift further into the world, and to not rely on the One who knows all things
God showed me that to love Jesus is to ”follow Him.” Jesus came to set us free so that we could go back into a relationship with the Father, but to also enable us to fulfil our purposes on earth
Too many think of Jesus as their Saviour, but not as their Lord over their life. Freedom comes when we surrender everything to Jesus, because then the enemy has nothing to attack us with
Lastly, God showed me that to be Spirit-filled is to bring heaven to earth. In other words, just like Jesus, signs, wonders, and miracles happened when Jesus walked in the room – Jesus declared that we would do GREATER things than He, and yet most of us have settled for mediocre
Friends, our lives, honestly aren’t meant to make much sense. This isn’t to confuse us, or to frustrate us, but it’s for us to realise that to be the type of Christian God wants, we need to walk by faith and not by sight. We need to be guided by God, and to not worry what the world thinks, because God declared long ago that the world would never understand His followers anyway – because we are with God. Not the enemy
“Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.”
1 Corinthians 27-29
