Last night, we had a meeting at church, but during the conversations, the Holy Spirit dropped this into my spirit, while discussions were going on:
Everyone wants to be liked, but not everyone wants to like others
The conversation was around ”home” and what this should look like, regarding the church, along with the values that we have within this
So many times, we can ”play” Christian. We know the things to say…How to act on a Sunday…Or how to engage with others, within our comfort zone…Yet, for many of us, we struggle with the fact that we are called to forgive each other – no matter who they are to us, and then there are the Scriptures that we are supposed to be kind, and don’t get me started on loving everyone as well!
Friends…deep within us, we all have a desire to feel accepted and welcomed within life. We all want, and even need, connection
Therefore, today, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to a time that this could have occurred and we ignored God’s prompting. Or maybe we stopped a conversation from happening when God put someone new in our path (as it felt uncomfortable)
We need to remember that we all show who God is, in a different way – it’s just finding that connection to become friends. Vulnerability is hard, but someone needs to make the first move, so why shouldn’t it be you!
“Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.”
Ephesians 4:32
