Honestly, yes, we should love sex, but we should love it in the way that God intended.
This is because it makes sense that the All-Knowing God, who invented sex, should know how it could best be celebrated. And yet, people still naturally think that the equation for God is: God + Sex = Boredom!
Yet, there is an ongoing battle within society, as God intended sex to be an awesome experience between husband and wife to provide physical, emotional, and spiritual intimacy, in love, as well as being fulfilled by each other. But sadly, the world does not operate like this any longer, and our bodies have been stolen from us, and we don’t even realise it.
In today’s world, we have this mindset that we can use our bodies to do whatever we like and there are no consequences to our emotional and spiritual well-being
This is because, sadly, we live in a warped, but shared mindset, which teaches us that we ‘must have it now’, because then we’ll happy. Surely, that makes us really happy then, right?
Yet, when we cut through all the gobbledygook of life, ultimately we all have the same basic desires and needs: fulfilment, happiness, peace, love, acceptance, respect, and connection…sound familiar?
”But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control…”
Galatians 5:22-23
Friends, nobody needs a one-night stand or a quick meaningless fling, but we all need love.
Nobody should need to be seen as equal because we are created uniquely; yet we all need connection, acceptance, and understanding.
Nobody needs to be seen as promiscuous and carefree; yet we all need peace and happiness.
The problem is, we live in a culture that teaches that one equals the other
If only society taught that real happiness is far more about what’s happening in our internal nature than our external one because it’s a commonly held belief that we’re all very different and we all have different goals. But in many ways, we’re not, and we don’t; we all want essentially the same things, it’s just we need to realise that the enemy has taken our attention off what really matters
