Rejecting Wisdom

We were designed to listen before we speak…to hear God’s thoughts…to receive His advice…and to ultimately, know His heart

Yet, for many, we struggle to feel like we can understand what God is saying to begin with, and therefore, to ask God for guidance, seems like an afterthought, because, generally, our prayers are just letting God know our decision, and asking Him to bless the direction we have decided to take

Do you know why I love the ocean so much? Because I can close my eyes and hear the wave. The motion is precise in my mind of what the wave is doing at that exact moment because I had years of just watching and learning the waves when I used to bodyboard in my childhood. This means that now, I just get to enjoy the sound that I love

It’s the same principle with God. We were designed to listen to God in order to thrive. To know His thoughts for our lives, and to know His heart for us, as a child of God, because God has shown us that He has always been more than willing to pour out His knowledge and love to us, if only we would spend time with Him

Friends, how often do we have a ”quiet time” to then spend the whole time, speaking to God? We’ve kind of missed the point! We have two ears and one mouth for a reason – we should use them wisely

So today, I want to encourage us to spend time to listen to God. Listen for the sound of His quiet voice, speaking to our inner being. Just listen

Because many of us will reject God’s wisdom, simply because we haven’t learnt the art of being still in God’s presence

Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise
