Yesterday, I heard someone say, ”We live in a hopeless world”
Hopelessness can be debilitating, but it’s actually not the end. There are so many people turning to God right now, and some people will say ”as if that’s the answer” – but it actually is
When we come to the end of ourselves…when we can no longer see a way out…a way past our circumstances…we search for something else. This is when we turn to God, because we realise we have nothing left to give…whereas He has been waiting for an opportunity to show us all along
”My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
Sometimes, we think that that there is no way out…no redemption…no forgiveness, and yet, God is love. Therefore, His mercy is greater than anything this world can throw at us, or anything we can do, and God promises forgiveness when we turn to Him
Jeremiah saw a ray of hope in all the sin and sorrow surrounding Him. The Israelites saw hopelessness, but Jeremiah saw the Lord’s great love, and therefore knew, they would never be truly defeated because God’s compassion never fails
Friends, there is NOTHING too big for our God to get you through, get you over, or break you free from. Hopelessness means that you have simply taken your eyes of Jesus
Therefore, this morning, my prayer is that when all else fails, you still dare to hope, you still dare to dream, and you put your trust in God – because you are a son or daughter of the living King
