Honestly, there have been many times in my Christian walk when I have simply asked ”why?” to God, before crying in a heap on the floor
We can have a warped reality of how situations should go, even in today’s modern world. Yet, persecution looks different to us all. No suffering is equal, due to our unique identities and circumstances, but pain to those individuals might feel the same
The pain we feel is very real, and we can be very quick to judge a person by our expectations of suffering
I know for myself, I have grown in my trials of suffering. Once a blubbering mess, in the same situations, I now know the reality compared to God’s Word, and I therefore stand firmly, with Christ. It doesn’t make it any more comfortable, but I trust in Him – always
I woke up this morning, with a heavy heart. I felt like there are a few of us today who needed to be encouraged due to their current outlook on life…
Friends, Peter mentions suffering a few times in 1 Peter because when he speaks of trials, it’s to do with the response of the unbelieving world to God’s children. People of faith face such trials when they let God’s light shine through them, into the world of darkness. Therefore, trials need to be accepted and embraced (in a way) that it is preparing us for not only what is to come, but ultimately, to meet Christ
The Bible shows us, that trials in life teach us patience (Romans 5:3-4 and James 1:2-3) but also, the circumstances we push through help us to grow and develop into the kind of people who God created us to be
So this morning, I encourage us to keep our eyes on Jesus, but also understand, that we are not alone in this world, and we all face uphill battles to victory
