This morning, as I watched the sun rising, I noticed a small bird fighting against a strong gust of wind.
This bird was relentlessly flapping its wings in a bid to continue in the direction that it was meant to, but the Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, ”the bird knows not why the path is difficult today, but you can understand that the wind is blowing.”
This reminded me of the Scripture in Ephesians, because all too often we can be fighting to stay on the right path, and yet the struggle is all too real
Friends, we need to remember that there is an unseen world that never sleeps. So, just because we get up the next day and hope that things might be better, the ”strong winds” that we can not generally see, are still at play
There will always be a strongly westerly wind if we are on the right trajectory in life because the enemy does not want us to finish our path. He wants us to believe we’re not strong enough. Doubt in God’s goodness. Or that, if God loved us, we wouldn’t be struggling in the first place
And yet, just like the bird this morning struggling with the wind, there were other birds, using the thermals in the sky to their advantage
Scripture tells us that God uses all things for good (Romans 8:28) and so, we can choose to believe that God has us, and fight to remain on the right path, or give up, and let the wind take us on whatever course it’s set upon
“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood, but against evil rulers of the unseen world” Ephesians 6:12
