Waking Up before the Birds

Scripture tells us that God’s mercies are renewed every morning and yet, for so many of us we want to sleep-in and rest

I still have a love/hate relationship with my alarm clock, because my spirit is always willing, and the rest of me, is not! Therefore, every morning, I choose to get up before the birds start singing

The reason I get up before the birds, is I want to make the most of God’s mercy. I want to praise Him from the moment I wake, until the time I go to sleep. I almost feel as though I am beating creation with singing God’s praises, when they start to join me in their song

Friends, we need to choose to pick up our cross and follow Jesus’ ways – daily. He shows us within Scripture that He spent time with God to renew, to strengthen, to prepare, to praise, to love, and to build faith in His journey. So, why do we find it so hard to do the same?

I love the Scripture in Psalm 57. The very thought of waking the dawn with my praise, takes my breath away. The notion of getting up, whilst it’s still dark, and watching the sun obediently rise whilst colour fills the sky is something that I never take for granted

Why?

Because if you have been blessed with a new day, don’t waste it pressing the ”snooze” button!

Praising God in the dark and watching His light shine on you, let it be a prophetic declaration, that God is with you each and every day
