What’s Worth More?

Jesus speaks more about money within the Bible than any other topic – for a good reason – because He knew the struggles we would face, and the temptations offered, would have eternal consequences

Let’s face it…money isn’t bad, but, if money controls our thoughts and motives, then there are many Scriptures to show what happens when we pick the world, over Jesus

The prosperity Gospel is being preached to state that God’s love is demonstrated from blessings of possessions or wealth. Yet, that simply isn’t true, and again, so many Scriptures reaffirm that our blessing is found through Jesus Christ, and Him alone, not how much is in our bank account while here on earth! Whether we are rich or poor – God loves us!

I was reading Luke 16:19-31 this morning – which is the parable about a Rich Man and Lazarus.

People are unsure whether this is an actual event, or a parable, because Jesus actually uses the names of Abraham and Lazarus, but either way, the story is tragic over loving money, instead of Jesus

Many of us strive for more. It almost comes naturally that we are always looking for the next thing, or opportunity, but what do we benefit if we gain the whole world, and yet lose our soul?

Friends, we seem to forget that this life is only temporary – a blink of an eye compared to eternity

”God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son” 1 John 5:11

The truth is, if we don’t want God during this lifetime, then He will grant us the same thing for eternity as well

The verses that hit home for me was from v29-32, in that, it is the power of Scripture that turns unbelief into faith, and if people don’t want to believe it, then that’s their choice

We all have a choice…but my question today is – what’s worth more to us?

Ultimately, this lifetime is about our relationship with Jesus, but also loving God, and loving others – the way that Jesus shows us

”Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” John‬ ‭14:6‬
