Tough questions deserve a second to pause and truly reflect…
Did Jesus make a mistake dying for you on the cross?
Many of us think, not, because sadly our worth has been cemented within the opinions of others, and we, therefore, feel unworthy to receive the gifts God has given to us. Put that together with the mess we have made in our lives, and the conclusion is that we believe the lies over God.
Am I worth it?
Don’t answer that just yet…
Let me remind you that God wrote about many people in the Bible, to show that the same things have been happening since the beginning of time
Moses gave God an excuse that he wasn’t good enough (Exodus 3:11)
Over and over he came up with reasons not to do what God was asking. He was happy to remain a shepherd in the wilderness, but most people forget that it was his sin that drove him there in the first place (Exodus 2:12)
Yet, Moses went on to lead millions of people by following God’s call on his life.
Gideon was hiding away from men in the winepress when an Angel called him a ”mighty man of valour.” Gideon didn’t believe that he was who God said he was (Judges 6:15) and yet, God knew Gideon would become all that He said, because God overcomes our weaknesses, to remind the world of His strength
Gideon became a military leader that won a massive battle for God.
This morning, I want you to ask yourself if you are walking on the path that God has set before you, or are you giving excuses?
Will you let God prove your worth?
Jesus didn’t make a mistake, because only you and your God-given gifts can fulfill the purposes God has for you.
God considered you worth dying for…hence why Jesus did
”But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.” Ephesians 2:13
