When you realise God’s “plan A”

I was speaking to a Mentor a few days ago and we talked about how life can throw a curve ball.

God gives us His promises through the Bible but He will also speak to our individual purposes, in what He wants us to fulfil.

I will never forget when I realised my destiny had been set by God – His “A Plan” for my life. It was exciting and bigger than I could have imagined! Because from that day, it enabled me to make decisions (going forward) based on what I knew God wanted overall.

But, then, my hopes and dreams were halted when the curve ball did come, and I began to think:

  • How did I get onto Plan B?
  • Did I miss something?

The truth is, this life is not about us, and therefore, when I took a step back and began to think about it, was this new direction actually Plan B, or was it God’s Plan A all along?

It came down to – did I trust God to take me away from what I love doing, because this was actually written long ago? God’s plan far exceeds anything I could do myself – whether it was His A, B or C Plan!

God doesn’t promise world stardom but He does promise protection, love, and eternal blessings.

So that is what I am holding onto, as I step into the next chapter of God’s “A Plan” for my life.

Everything that He has foretold, will come to pass. I don’t need to understand – I just need to be obedient.

Listening to Hillsong this morning really cemented that for me:

I lay down my old flames

To carry Your new fire today

So make me Your vessel

Make me an offering

Make me whatever You want me to be

God, I came here with nothing

But all You have given me

Jesus, bring new wine out of me

“You keep every promise you’ve ever made to me! Since your love for me is constant and endless, I ask you, Lord, to finish every good thing that you’ve begun in me!” Psalms‬ ‭138:8‬
