John the Baptist put it so beautifully when he spoke in Luke 3:16:
“John answered their questions by saying, “I baptise you with water; but someone is coming soon who is greater than I am—so much greater that I’m not even worthy to be his slave and untie the straps of his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.”
It really puts things into perspective that we may speak and people may even come to hear the Gospel, but we are not worthy.
Because it’s only from Jesus – The One whom brought life from death – that can give us the Holy Spirit to proclaim what happened with power.
We cannot know true love without Him.
We cannot speak with that love to others, without Him.
He is love and without Him, our words are nothing more than mere noise.
Yet, bring the fire that comes from the Holy Spirit to speak through us, and we are given the power to crash into the very depths of people’s souls, to bring true life.
