He said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while.” Mark 6:31
This wasn’t a request. It wasn’t even a suggestion. It was Jesus’ command.
Do you ever feel guilty for taking time away to recharge?
Doing God’s work is important, but even Jesus recognised that to do it effectively we need periodic rest and renewal. That is why God commanded a sabbath day because He intended for us to rest, as we do need unhurried time in worship and rest…each week.
That is how amazing He is to us.
Don’t feel guilty or allow others to make you feel so. And don’t neglect Gods provision for our lives!
By taking a day off to recoup in this fast-paced world demonstrates how important God actually is to us and by resting, we may just rediscover the joy we thought had been lost forever, simply by refreshing our souls.
