Knowing, sensing or feeling a new season is about to begin is the toughest time for most of us, as it is our human instinct to believe “we know” that “the time is now.” We can usually give one hundred and one reasons as well!
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Proverbs 3:5-6
This scripture continues to challenge the best of us, even the most well-seasoned Christian’s, will still have a moment where they can question the situation they face…
“Are we hearing Him right?”
“Did God really mean, wait this long?”
It’s amazing that God gives us the dreams and visions of where He ultimately wants us to be, but there are fundamentals with the “call” that we must remember.
- Don’t strive – God can do more for you in a second than it’ll take for us to do in our lifetime
- Character growth is huge – would you give a 5 year old, the keys to your new car to drive? There is a reason that God asks us to remain in our current circumstances and I would rather be in “Gods will” and ask what He wants me to learn, than get to my ultimate goal and realise I am out of my depth!
- Relationship, relationship, relationship – it’s a tough one to realise that sometimes it’s not all about us. Loving God is the most beautiful experience and relationship we can have but remember, God is love. If we forget this then we miss the whole point of Whom He is.
Sometimes we will never know “why,” but it’s allowing ourselves to be where we are and trying to enjoy the journey because if we have been obedient to God, then we are already blessed.
