There are times when even I do this without thinking of the actual context surrounding the verses commonly used.
We often use the above verse with reference to prayer but Jesus is with each & everyone of us – so that doesn’t actually make sense that there needs to be two or three. This is where confusion can occur.
Therefore, the themes that are present in the context of this verse are forgiveness and reconciliation with people, who have wronged against you or who has gone astray from their faith.
Jesus, therefore is saying that whenever the “church” (a group of people) make a decision on matters of right and wrong (according to Gods word & glory) Jesus is present.
