If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see?
God is the true meaning of love but the most difficult thing in this verse is implied by loving an invisible God compared to someone whom we can see and touch.
Although we are no longer under the Old Testament law, Jesus Christ encapsulates love, after dying for us on the cross.
So if you believe that Jesus died for YOU, then God lives within you and the word “hate” should be distasteful in your eyes.
It is one thing to stand up for what is right but we should stand out of the crowd for the right reasons.
